Joy Dorst is an award-winning designer specializing in
sustainable garden design and restoration. A graduate
of UC Berkeley in landscape architecture, she has
created beautiful landscapes in California, Florida,
Pennsylvania, New York and the Netherlands. Joy has
taught graduate and undergraduate college courses in
landscape drawing, design, history, site engineering,
and plant identification; and the past Chief Learning
Officer of Green Industries Institute. She is an
online learning leader, well respected in the
architecture, design, landscape and green professions.
She has worked on acquisition and restoration projects
in California and Florida including garden restoration
for Florida communities and cities from DeFuniak
Springs to Key West. As a professor of landscape
design, she serves as an advisor on certification and
is the Florida Nursery Growers and Landscape
Association official trainer. She is
the past president of the Florida Landscape Designers
Association, a member of the American Society of
Landscape Architecture and advocate of the U.S. Green
Building Council. A leader of environmental
stewardship with communities across America, Joy has
worked in partnership with NOAA, Trust for Public
Land, US Green Building Council, 1000 Friends of
Florida, Florida Nursery Growers and Landscape
Association, the Association of Professional Landscape
Designers, and a number of private and public agencies
for nearly 30 years. |
