Q: How will my continuing education be reported? / Does Design with Joy report my Continuing Education credit hours to my state board or organization?
A: Some state boards require (or allow) the provider (us) to file completion reports. Most regulatory state boards require self reporting and use the honor system but conduct random individual audits. If you are selected for such an audit, the board will send you a letter asking you to show proof that you are in compliance with the mandatory continuing education requirements.  If you attend a Design with Joy seminar we provide copies of this form for Architects, Interior Designers and other professionals when possible.

Should you be selected for an audit, simply send the board a copy of the pertinent Certificate(s) of Continuing Education from your Design with Joy courses. If you misplaced your "Certificate(s) of Continuing Education" for any of the courses you have completed with us, you may simply request a duplicate copy from us. For courses you have taken with other providers, you would have to call that provider directly to obtain a duplicate copy (provided they issue duplicates).  Please note that most regulatory state boards require that you keep a copy of your "Certificate(s) of Continuing Education"

Q: What is online learning?
A: Design with Joy Online learning is structured continuing education experience in which the learner and the instructor are separated by time and/or space. Our online learning is accredited through the same process as the continuing education seminars we offer. In order for us to verify that pre-set learning objectives are met, the online learning includes an evaluation component, usually in the form of a questionnaire, which must be completed before a certificate of completion can be issued.

Q: Are correspondence courses and online courses the same thing?
A: No.  The content, presentation and learning experience is very different between correspondence and online learning. The biggest difference is that the correspondence courses are paper based and online courses are taken directly on our website. Both correspondence and online are accredited through the same process as the continuing education seminars we offer. Both products require a passing grade on a quiz to earn your credit hours and be awarded a certificate of completion.

A: Yes. Much of the course content is available in an easy-to-print PDF format. The online courses are multimedia, presented in Flash with a number of resources built into each course such as file attachments for download and / or print and web site links.
